Feature Friday Member: Heather Barnard!

Hello! My name is Heather, although most know me as Chick76 or Chickadeeprints due to my online presence! My screen names and emails online have been one or another since I had my first email account. Many of my close friends just call me Chick. It all started from a nickname my dad gave me when I was an itty bitty, and it has stuck ever since…Chick-a-dee.

I am a mommy to three wonderful children, Edward 5.5, Eden 4, and Ellison 2, and the wife of an amazingly supportive guy. I was born in sunny California in Orange County…living all over the area. I then moved with my mom to Chicago for 8 years which was an amazing experience. Sadly, cancer took her life, and I moved back to Carmel, California to live with my dad and step-mom my freshman year of high school. I ended up in Utah in 2000 for an ex-boyfriend…but I wouldn’t have found my husband without getting there some how! LOL!

I don’t think you can categorize me into any one label. It’s kind of a joke on Twitter and Facebook. I ALWAYS have something going in my life, many times multiple things! Just a example of the things that I enjoy doing: computer graphics for my stationery company Chickadee Prints, blog writing for Chickadee Prints and Kidlets Blog, working on a children’s book as well as a non-fiction book, photography for my other business Sweet to Sassy Photography, baking up a storm when it comes to cakes and cupcakes, tweeting…(really should be considered my full-time job!), hosting parties, working on recipes to curb my chef desires, Facebook updating, advocating for early breast cancer detection for women under 40, and run around after/transport/and fulfill my three little ones! Oh, and then there’s the cleaning house, laundry, breakfast/lunch/dinner, and other mommy/wifely duties around the home!
Second to being a mom, I run Chickadee Prints and Sweet to Sassy Photography (photography with my husband). I love art, creativity, and being a mompreneur. I want my children to grow up around creativity…find their outlets…find what makes them passionate. While I have many template card designs on our site, I tend to take more custom orders…which is so much fun. I get to connect with my clients in a different way…working together to find that perfect card. With photography, I’m capturing the most precious moments in time from a pregnant mommy’s journey, to the candid hugs between a brother and sister. Again…getting creative and finding ways to shares those moments to last a lifetime.
I came across The Little Seed from a tweet by Soleil. I was so happy to find it, as we try to make Earth friendly decisions in many areas. My biggest efforts yet were the drug-free births of my three children. I wanted them to have the freshest start to life I could give. We also didn’t vaccinate (I know, such a debate there…). When they were ready for table foods, we made their food from organic fruits and veggies. To this day, my kids will take quinoa and broccoli over a cupcake. We use homeopathy first before meds when possible. And my little ones know all about recycling. I just love that The Little Seed was founded and provides so much useful information to parents looking for some natural alternatives to life.
